Paint Workshops for furniture

Since we started Steele&Cox we’ve been asked so many times by people if we run painting workshops. Because of the amount of interest we decided to create our practical paint workshops for people of all abilities wanting to learn the techniques needed for painting with chalk paint, the paint of choice for creating shabby chic, distressed and aged furniture.

The full-day workshop is run in our North Yorkshire studio where you’ll learn painting techniques, waxing, distressing, gilding and crackling.

You’ll need a small piece of unpainted wooden furniture such as a stool, chair or shelf unit that isn’t too intricate. We start exploring the painting techniques by working on boards before moving on to painting your own small piece of furniture.

The Workshop day:

By the end of the workshop, you will have learned and practised several techniques and created a
beautiful piece of hand-painted furniture.

Price of £99 includes tutorials and practical painting and finishing techniques, all materials used on the day, refreshments on arrival and lunch with beverages and cake.

Please let us know if you are vegetarian or have any other dietary requirements upon booking.
Maximum of 6 and minimum of 4 people per workshop (over 16s only)

Things to remember:

• Your piece of furniture (ready cleaned and dust free)
• Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on
• A pad and pen to make notes

We can also accommodate workshops for groups or parties such as birthdays, hen parties, etc. Please call us to discuss your needs.
