A pair of interesting late 18th century delicately made bedroom chairs with rush seats. They are thought to be a master and apprentice chair because they are the same but have slight differences that are not apparent at first glance. Fine marquetry inlay decorates the surface of these chairs on the back support, front legs and stretcher. There is very minor movement in the frames which despite their delicate frame are remarkably sturdy. Although probably originally produced to be used lightly in a bedroom, these lovely chairs would look great in a conservatory or hallway where a dignified rustic look is required. Pair them with a bistro table or a console table to achieve a completely different look.
About the values of our furniture
As well as caring passionately about the beauty and the quality of what we do, our furniture is produced using the most environmentally friendly methods and products that are available so that they may enhance the beauty of each piece and, in turn, enrich your environment without costing the earth. We source and refurbish original materials where possible; if reproduction materials need to be used such as keys or handles we only source them from homegrown craftspeople thereby supporting the skills and talents of the people within our communities. We do not support unethical or cruel regimes or industries that profit from destroying the life of the planet. Where possible we recycle everything that we use.
