Rare bedroom suite by Alfred Cox in a light amber satin walnut veneer with superb inlay design to the wardrobe doors. This five piece set comprises of a double ladies wardrobe with hanging rails to both sides and a shelf compartment, a gents wardrobe comprising of a hanging rail and six shelf compartment, a dressing table with five vanity drawers and triple bevelled mirror in excellent condition standing on typical 1950s atomic legs, a matching dressing stool with atomic legs, and a double headboard. Each unit has the original handles, locks and keys and the drawers have perfect dovetailed joints. This is an iconic set of vintage 1950s modernist designer vintage furniture dating to the Festival of Britain era. Alfred Cox was a designer and maker of high quality handmade furniture. His quality furniture was highly regarded and was retailed through Heals of London department store as well as other high quality, high end furniture retailers. Each piece has the maker’s name and registration design plates. It’s rare to find five matching pieces in one set.

Alfred Cox furniture was hand built and made to the highest quality. The bedroom suite is in excellent vintage condition with only slight signs of wear and tear (one small scratch to the front of the large wardrobe and slight sun bleaching to the dressing table top). The interiors of the wardrobes and drawers are in new condition. This suite is perfect for a devotee of vintage interiors or 1950s modernist design period interiors. The dressing table top can be re-finished for an additional charge, please call us to discuss.

Delivery times:

Your order will usually be delivered within 2-3 weeks. Because we use specialist couriers you will have a choice of delivery
date, once you have chosen your date a vehicle will be allocated to your consignment.

You will need to be at the premises to take delivery of the furniture on the agreed date and may be required to help unload.

Cancellation and returns
5.1 This policy does not apply to goods ordered by businesses which are exempt from the Consumer Contracts Regulations, or the following goods which are exempt from the right to cancel: Any items that are bespoke, made to order, painted to order, personalised or modified to your specification.
5.2 Your contract may be cancelled up to 14 working days after the delivery day. Cancellations will only be accepted when made in writing. Your reason for cancellation is not a requirement, however, an explanation will be appreciated to enable us to improve our customer service.
5.3 Cancelled orders must be returned to us within 14 days at your own expense, in the original packaging and packaged adequately to prevent damage.
5.4 Any items that have been installed may not be returned unless faulty.
5.5 Failure to take reasonable care of the items resulting in damage or deterioration before they are returned to us will incur a charge to cover the reduction in value.
5.6 Refunds, including postage/carriage, less any costs due under this contract, will be made within 14 days of receipt of the returned items at our premises.
5.7 Customer who are exempt from the Customer Contracts Regulations will not be allowed to cancel an order unless mutually agreed. This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights – eg, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.
6. Faulty Goods/Guarantee
6.1 If a problem is identified with the items please advise us in writing with details and preferably a digital photo. This will enable us to inspect the items and will often negate the need to return the item for inspection. The issue will be addressed by us and will not affect your legal rights. 6.2 Vintage, antique and distressed items show signs of wear and tear and age. You must be aware of this before ordering. All items are described fully and photographed. Distressed items that are painted with chalk or milk paint will continue to age and distress over time due to the characteristics of the paint and you should accept this as a condition of the sale.
